My daughter drives a '13 EB Flex, so I'll have to get her to look at hers. Of course, that's just another source of dirt for the engine compartment.

My 2013 SHO PP ducts are not open. My 2012 Flex Ecoboost are open. There is some minor ducting pop riveted at the openings to direct air flow towards the turbos. Ford engineers may have decided this was needed based on temperature data for the turbos during heat soak. For the SHO, apparently this was not as critical and saved the cost for this feature. I'm sure you could swap out an undertray or pan from the Flex. Question is whether this has an adverse effect on radiator cooling, i.e. airflow through grill and exiting engine compartment. SHO has an under bumper spoiler which helps lower air pressure under front and reduce aero lift but also increases airflow through radiator/underhood because of the pressure drop. Flex has no spoiler, so may instead need to augment air cooling with the ducts. Hard to say without knowing the real function.Hey guys....when I was working on the SHO last weekend, I noticed that the big plastic pan underneath has two ducts molded into it...but they aren't open.
This AM, I saw one on Facebook for sale, and the ducts are cut open. Is this a PP vs non PP thing? Could it hurt to open them to be functional?
That looks like it's just taking heat from the radiator out not the rest of the engine ... I assume that maybe better way of getting a cooler radiator that will make the engine cooler but less dirty.
That would keep the heat that the radiator has just transferred from the engine->coolant->air from being immediately passed back over the engine by forcing it out the top of the hood. Seems like a good idea. That looks like it's just taking heat from the radiator out not the rest of the engine ... She had no idea what I was talking about, and no wonder... hers is MISSING.My daughter drives a '13 EB Flex, so I'll have to get her to look at hers. Of course, that's just another source of dirt for the engine compartment.
I ditched (BOTH) of my skid plates/under belly pans years ago.I it really needed? the under skid plate that is.

Mine's a DD so it keeps a lot of salt spray out of the engine bay. It's so easy to take on and off- there's really no reason to leave it off. If it was push pins, or a bunch of 8 mm screws, yea, I can see that.
I finally received the new "under cover" from Tasca Ford, and tried to install it, only to find that the front drivers side capture nut is missing in my daughter's Flex. Must be the reason the cover was never reinstalled. I've ordered a new capture nut (-W716006-S439) from Quirk Ford. Has anybody ever installed one of these? I don't want her to drive 2 hours to my house (again) only to find I need a special tool to install this thing. She had no idea what I was talking about, and no wonder... hers is MISSING.

I believe the "clip" you refer to is what I have ordered. No it should just be a twist in capture nut. However, make sure you have the rubber spacer and clip that attached to the vehicle itself as well.
