I found a 98-99 SHO in a local J/Y.
I'm planning a Gen3 subframe swap in my turbo 90 soon but I am not all versed in what is needed from the doner gen3 car.
Any chance someone could compile a list of all the parts I should grab from the doner so I don't have to make multiple trips?

thanks:wave:

From that SHO? The steering rack.

Gen 3 sf swaps use SLO subframes, lower control arms and knuckles.

Wat if I wanted to do this one day. one car has 13 cobra which I know work with a gen 3 sf. however wat about the wildwood kit I have on the 91? the brackets use 94/95 spindles with the ears ground down a bit. anyone know if it would swap over onto the new knuckles?

Thanks guys,I'll snag that steering rack and hose from that SHO.
I'll start looking for a gen3 SLO while I'm there.

Justin, you can use any brake setup that uses the 94/95 spindles.

Parts list:
96-97 SLO subframe (easiest to modify)
Related control arms and knuckles
swaybar or just the swaybar mounts
Gen3 rack bolts (they are longer)

The gen3 subframe needs small collars on the swaybars. The stock bar has that, but they dont have a 24mm. So if you use a gen2 24mm bar you will need to use collars.

You should be OK. On my car, Custom brackets had to be made. I'm pretty sure James had to do the same on a FSL6 equipped car as well.

You dont need collars on the swaybar.... Mine has worked just fine in all 10 cars I've swapped without...

Yes you do. My bar was shifting when mine was done before I ordered some cheap collars offline. Or you could weld something in place to hold it if you'd like.

I will just say that if it works for him more power to him. He might be using GEN 3 bars which have collars built in. Must be a reason ford decided to use collars on them. But whatever floats your boat I guess. I'll stick with them on mine.

Brian, if you need a custom hose made, there is a place that does it about a mile from my shop. Just bring both ends and give them an hour. I have been thinking about this swap as well because there are a few SLOs at Classic Auto Salvage by me.

I had my hose made locally for $11.

Like James said, get the SHO rack, pressure hose, and return hose.

While you're there, pick up the sway bar from the SHO.

Give me a call or PM if you want.

that's a pretty good price - I got quoted $150 when I was looking at it earlier this year.
