Does anybody have the PIAA headlights for their car. I am looking at getting the ones from tirerack.com (PIAA Xtreme Wht 9007 (Pair). Do they run cool enough and a low enough wattage. Also I want to find some matching PIAA fog lights to fill the whole space in the stock location. Any body have any suggestions?

I have the PIAA 9007s. The wattage is the same. They are a bit brighter than a regular bulb. Get the Sylvania Silver Series. Same thing half, the price.

yea, stay away from PIAA bulbs. They are way too overpriced, under perform and shortlived. If your front lenses are still looking good (less than 60k or 4 years), go for the Sylvania Silverstar or Narva. If not, there will not be a visible difference. They arent as long lived as OEM either, but they usually dont break in your headlights.

The PIAA's might be a lil over priced. But they have been in my car for the past 2 years. I have NEVER had a problem with them. I also carry these lights so I stand behind them. My housing havn't dis-colored nor my wires fry due to the voltage. I am very happy with them. To bad PIAA didn't come out with a replacement bulb for the fogs. If you due a search I had a group buy for these back in the day when the forum first started. I don't know if its still archived or not.

The PIAAs aren't a high wattage bulb. So heat should not be a problem. I haven't had any problems with them either in the last two years. I just won't buy them again because of their premium price.

I recently ordered some led bulbs and got two "purple HID look" 9007 bulbs free. Last night I put one in to compare it against the PIAA 9007. No contest the purple one suckes big time. Looks like a HID when staring at it though.

JCWhitney has a great set of genuine HID driving lights, rectangular, $599.00, with remote control.
They fit the SHO perfectly, look stock, built like tanks, cast aluminum and stainless steel.
Rather than a "pencil" beam, these have a horizonally aligned beam somewhat like a fog light, so you can see all across the road and the sharp cutoff prevents offending oncoming drivers, but unlike fog lights, the have a great distance and white light. Also they draw a lot less current than halogen "fake HIDs". The yellow color for "fog" lights has been debunked by research as BS; white works better under all conditions.
Also, being HID, there is no filament to wear out or break, so they last MUCH longer.
The light produced will make you a true believer!
