Performance Cams...

I've never heard of anyone testing or having a set of performance cams for the good ole' V8. I find this interesting seeing as the cams all fail anyhow without prevention, suprises me no one has tried this yet...

Or am I just misinformed?

Inquiries have been made several times in the past to all the various cam companies. The problem is quantity -- they would want to produce somewhere around 20-50K units of each cam, and there are probably not that many V8 SHOs left on the road, nevermind owners willing to buy cams.

If it ever happens, someone is probably going to pay a substantial amount to get a one-off set custom made. Probably end up costing them a couple grand or more.
