I have heard that Pennzoil makes the GM Syncromesh and is the exact same blend.

I also found this. http://www.pennzoil.com/products/gear_oil/syncro_fluid.html

Can any prove, confurm or deny that this is true or not.

Also in eather case, do you guys mix the syncromesh with other fluids or use it strait.

Im thinking of doing this, but I have no problem shifting right now. But I have 170000 and dont think it has been changed in 100000 miles.

I've seen it in local AutoZones. haven't looked for a couple of years, not sure if they still have it or can get it. Call your local store and ask.

It's avialible at Autozone. It is stocked with the differential gear oil, not the regular ATF. The bottle looks like a diff. gear bottle as well.
I was wondering if anyone had been able to compare this to Mobil 1 Synthetic? I am getting ready to tear into my MTX and was wondering if it would be worth switching. I am currently using Mobil 1....from what I have read, different trans react diffently.

The SHO specs ATF. Synchromesh is somewhere between ATF and 75w90 gear oil. It's on the thinner side of those 2 extremes.

That having ben said, in a few days I'm putting GM synchromesh in my Audi that specs 75w90 GL4. VW guys like the stuff and it will smooth that 1-2 shift thats difficult when cold.

Not sure - I've heard yes, but I also have heard that the GM blend is different.

You can bet that the usage of the name is done under license.

There's no way in heck that the owner of that trademark is going to let products of different specifications to be sold under the same name.

They are the same thing and it will save you about 3bucks if you buy the Pennzoil Syncromesh at AutoZone I just put it in my 95 MTX that was getting hard to shift and it has made a good difference
