Can someone explain how our pcv system works(and I don't mean "like shit")I've got some carbon build up in the lower parts of my runners and the intake ports on the heads.Actually, on the heads it's a little wetter, probably from the injectors.

PURPOSE
The Positive Crankcase Ventilation PCV system cycles crankcase gases back through the engine where they are burned.

OPERATION
This system is unique because it does not use a PCV valve. Instead, the crankcase gases flow through an oil separator to three ports in the throttle body. Fresh air for the PCV system is supplied from another port on the throttle body to the cylinder head cover. Under various throttle conditions, the air and crankcase gases flow differently through the ports in the throttle body.

Result: Much more carbon build up on the runners and crossover tubes than you are used to seeing.

Intimidating Solution: Take the intake off and clean it out with berrymans chemtool B-12 from autozone (6 cans of it). Use every kind of brush you have from tooth to toilet to scrub them out. I put a bottle brush on the end of my drill and honed away. When the intake was off, I also looked at the top of the motor and saw the valve had crust on them too. Make sure the valve you are spraying is closed. Let it soak and suck out the crud. It is a day long job and take patience. Be careful not to break any gaskets.

Result: better throttle response and a change in your butt dyno (seat of the pants feel).

I tried to do a search on how to filter out crankcase gasses, or just let it go out into the atmoshpere and filter the line so it doesn't suck in any unwanted material. Does anyone have pics or a writeup on how this is done? Thanks.

I just pluggged the TB and valve cover port. It has been my experience that this alone will reduce the volume of blow-by gasses condensate in half. Although it is water that is being eliminated.
