I have a 97 V8SHO and might need a PCM soon...

Do the PCm differ from each year?

What would be the code for mine?

I'm going to take it out tomorrow...

Thanks

From what i found when i SEARCHED was that unlike the earlier auto Sho's there is no superior gen3 ecu. One issue you'll run into is the PATS system, also your code is on a sticker on the ecu.

I just bought and swapped a pcm unit, hoping that it was the cause of my 'miss'.
My 1997 had code AWL1. It did not help my situation.

these are all areas that can cause misfires too,and more common on these cars than bad ecu's; coils, tps, plugs, clean your maf, check for vac leaks, fuel filter,02 sensors

You probably have a AWL1 or 2. Either would work. Why do you think you need a different PCM? Can't actually remember hearing of one that went bad.
