I'm bidding (and winning) on a SU-16 right now. I have a feeling its going to sell way higher than I'm willing to pay.

It would seem cars and guns go hand in hand. All things mechanical! Car projects in the summer, gun project in the winter. I was always told that the only time you have too much ammo is when the house is on fire ( ;
That’s funny!

I have thought about that. As long as it’s not it the chamber contained and directed down the barrel I’ve heard, thankfully never experienced, it just pops like popcorn. I would think sort of real loud popcorn. I can hear me now. Telling the firefighters, “Be careful around that locked security cabinet, bolted to the wall studs, next to the safe!”

Wow! Just looked on there and 9mm is going for .75 - .85 a round. And the auction isn’t over. I’d had a good stockpile so I haven’t shopped in a while. Obviously it’s every bit as bad as I’ve heard. Also saw CCI 22LR for .25 a round.
Right now, or really since January, if you see bulk 9mm FMJ range ammo for anything under $1/round, jump on it!
I already had a 1,000 rounds of Fiocchi, but it bought some more. And I found some Nosler 200 packs of JHP for $200, so I and a buddy jumped on that.

Yeah, SHO guys have been gun guys for years. I started adding a Range Day to the SHO Convention back in 2011, and it had been quite popular.

I couldn't find an outdoor range in reasonable distance in Chicago in 2015, but that's not surprising. What is surprising, and disappointing, is that there's no public ranges available in western PA nor eastern Ohio, where we're having the 2020 & 2021 Conventions. I thought that both were gun-friendly, but not for ranges, apparently.

Shield EZ is the best IMO. My next choice would be a LC9S (what my wife carries). The EZ wasn't an option when we bought hers.

I've had an LC9 for years, primarily for pocket carry. My buddy traded in his LC9 for an LC9S awhile back. It's nicer, but my LC9 is fine for what I need. Regular EDC is a G19 or G27.

Nice! I carried a LC9S as well for a few years but recently sold it to invest in a Sig P365. Still carrying my XDS (SHO gun) or PC Shield (truck gun) until I have a chance to put a couple hundred rounds through the new gun. I carry a Bodyguard on my ankle 90% of the time. The others go on my waist when I actually can carry lol.

I carried an XDS for awhile. I have since switched over to a Springfield Hellcat. Learning how to train with an optic was interesting since I was always using iron sights. Now I pick up a sidearm without an optic and first thing I think is "What peasant own this!?" lol.

I've seriously considered optics for a carry gun but I'm only 180 lbs. I won't carry most double stacks because I have a hard time concealing them. I can't imagine where I'd hide a big ring sticking off the top of the gun. Even if I could, the price alone puts it out of question for me. I have too many guns to install optics on all of them, and well... I like having too many guns.

I get what you're saying though. I have a Vortex red/green dot on my AR. Every time I shoot it, it takes some time getting used to it. Then switching back to another gun feels old skool.

Do yourself a favor and shoot a Hellcat or a 365 with an optic. Both are priced well for what you get. My Hellcat is probably the best out of the box gun I have ever owned. Both are small enough to conceal. I carry in a Crossbreed at 11 o'clock (I am a lefty) and it works well. My buddy carries a 365 in an Alien Gear and he is 5'9 180lbs and conceals really well too.

Optics on a carry gun? Now that’s some real controversy!

Does the optic not add bulk? The only holster I use are the clipless Remoras. They can be carried in any position and they're ambidextrious.

Very little bulk. I don't notice any difference vs my xds. Remember the Hellcat is a micro.

My EDC rig.

I just envision that ring digging into my side. Idk maybe I'll rent one at the range one day and see if I like it. As I mentioned, I haven't even shot my P365 yet so I'm not officially carrying it. It definitely is smaller than my XDS.

First pic is my gun. Second two are comparing my XDS to a co-workers P365 days before I pulled the trigger (pun intended) on buying mine. My XDS has Talon grips. I haven't decided if the P365 will get any.

Be careful with back plates and images. Some yuppie AG could prosecute you saying you have intent (if you defended yourself) because of Mr. Castle's logo. It is sad but true.

Good point. I've only had to draw a few times over the years and I've never actually taken aim at anyone. The part in the CCP course where they discuss the aggressor of a conflict really set in for me. If I have to defend myself it would clearly be a case of self defense.

Have you seen how many States are legalizing constitutional carry? Whoa! The CCP course is a breeze but I truly believe that everyone should have to take it. If you flip some dude off for taking your parking spot, get in an argument/fight, and you shoot him, you go to jail. I feel like a lot of hot heads out there don't know this.

We have constitutional carry here in AZ. I think is it completely asinine that we have to fight for a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT. However I do agree. Obtaining a CCW/CCP is a good idea. It gives you reciprocity in many states and gives you faster NICs service. Also should the need arise, your defense attorney can argue the merits that you know and understand the rules of engagement and that you were justified if you have to pull.
