How are you passing the time while your SHO is frozen to the ground?? Due to the storm we have been stuck at home for pst week and it appears we have another week of hunkering down to go!

Yesterday I laid new flooring in my house but I have spending more time thinking about how I can throw money at the SHO!

Would injectors have any benefit if I already have an XDI fuel pump and a DW booster pump?

should I delete the belly cat? I’m afraid doing so will make the car sound raspy, can’t be having that!

Add a catch can? The climate is petty dry here so it hasn’t been much of a priority.

Meth for cleaning, how impactful would this be, does anybody have quantifiable results from doing so?

Then the mind wanders to Ex ST, so much potential. It’s everything the SHO should have been.

Then I remember my hot water lines are frozen so my car part money will probably going to the local plumber.

How are you passing time?

My time and money has been consumed by insulating my workshop. It's gotta be warm in the winter and not sweat in the summer. All is complete now except about 15 4x8' sheets of styrofoam insulation. I keep putting it off because I'm installing it on the ceiling, on a 6' scaffold, on a 6' ladder. Who's OSHA, right?

And guns. All of this Biden talk about infringing on our 2A rights really makes me believe I don't have enough guns and ammo. So I'm back into buying/selling/trading but I don't want to shoot anything cause I don't know if I'll ever be able to buy reasonable ammo again.

I did a full tune up on the SHO a couple months ago (oil, trans, coolant, plugs, cleaned air filter, RDU, & PTU) and now I'm noticing a little whistle when I let off the gas under any amount of boost. Not like normal driving, but if I start to build boost and then take my foot off the gas quickly allowing the RPM's to fall, it sorta sounds like a mild BOV. I really like it, but in the back of my mind I'm wondering if I heard it before or not. And now do I have a boost leak somewhere? It's probably fine but I'm just being OCD.

I feel that! I remember in 2013 when a box Winchester .45 went from $20/bx to $60 if you could find it. Reloading supplies were even harder to find. I’m just going to wait it out this time around.

I have been fixing up my house so I can sell it and move to the country, I need a shop with a lift!

How much boost are you pushing? I had a pretty similar experience when I had my car tuned. I discovered virtually every plastic pipe in the stock intake would leak whenever car was making 12+ psi of boost. Those soft plastic pipes that come on the SHO are complete garbage, or maybe just mine were?

You can convert the BOV’s to vent into the atmosphere which will give a loud whoosh rather than recirculating the air. Just know that everybody will want to race you on the street if you do this.

Yea I stocked up as soon as prices dropped back down. I got used to the cheap ammo prices and let my stockpile get a little lower than I'd like.

We moved in 2018 and my only conditions where that I wanted a garage and a workshop. I got the garage but not the workshop so we ended up getting one of the metal ones and I've done everything myself (sealed the concrete, wired, and insulating).

The most I've seen is 19, nearly 20 PSI. But I rarely push her that hard. What I'm hearing happens at even low PSI (1-6). Funny thing is my gas mileage is getting better. For the longest time, I averaged 18.1 city/highway. Lately that number is creeping up so I feel like she's just breathing better than before. I've tried to record it but it's not loud enough that my phone will capture it. Usually I'm blaring my stereo so it could have been this way for a long time and me not hear it.

I feel your pain. Before the 2016 election when Hillary was “a lock” I built my last AR. With a very substantial arsenal it’s not so much the guns that concern me. But, to your point, the ammo has been crazy! Cabela’s opens @ 9:00 AM Saturday. The line starts forming before 8:00. I used to shoot a match at least 3 weekends a month. Steel Challenge, IDPA & Falling Steel. Occasionally shoot a 3 gun or USPSA on the 4th. Now I don’t shoot any. (Full disclosure it’s been awful cold too so it’s been ok!) but I don’t know when I’ll be able to restock if I do. And then, as you said, at what price?
Maybe it’s time to start reloading?

I'm seeing resellers post 223/5.56 for $1.00-1.50 a round. CRAZY! For now, the only guns I can afford to shoot are 22LR. I'd love to reload but now's the wrong time to buy presses or supplies. Maybe that'll be my next hobby if/when things settle down.

Why thank you! Do you proof read also? It seems I occasionally spell incorrectly as well! I can use all the help I can get!

RC Cars, but my lack of SHOtivation came before the snow.

As for the XDI injectors, I've yet to actually see a SHO NEED them. But if you want to give a whirl I'll sell you a set cheapish. I have 3 sets in stock I'm tired of looking at.

Have you talked to Matt about it? What's he say? Each tuner will have a different discussion on mods.

As for the catch can and meth, both are great both for preventive maintenance as well as performance. If oil blowby gets into the combustion chamber, you're diluting fuel and losing octane which affects combustion. Likewise if your valves are caked and restrict airflow you're affecting your burn and throwing off your afr. Meth is also an octane booster which can help to maximize timing through knock sensor correction and increase power even if you aren't tuned for it.

I prefer the UPR can and the AEM meth system, but others may have their own opinions.

In today's politics, there isn't a solid link to anything. He's basically trying to ban AR's and impose a bunch of crazy taxes on new/existing guns. I'm also hearing something about a public record of where each gun is stored in your home. I'm planning to take all of mine with me deep sea fishing soon.

There’s a guy on YouTube called Mr. gunsNgear. Not sure how he spells it. But he lays all of the proposed changes out on a white board. Not only would all of the guns be registered and taxed. But “high capacity” mags (over 10 rounds) as well. The mags would be on the public register as well. So @ $200 each the Glock 19 with 3 Standard capacity mags (over 10 rounds) would cost an additional $800 to purchase or to keep if you already own it.

I am in the market for something my wife can carry. I guess I'll have to get that done sooner than later.
