Passenger airbag

It should be off if the seat sees 40 lbs or less, right? The light works on startup check turns light on but goes out once check is done.

Thats how its supposed to work. Stick something in the seat that weighs 5-10lbs. The light should come on. But with nothing in the seat, the light will turn off.

i was thinking that 0-40 lbs the airbag won't go off. that would be crappy if it went off with no passenger

I dont think it will go off with no passenger. I think the light only comes on if there is some weight in the seat less than 40lb, like if your kid was sitting there, to let you know that it wont go off at your kid.
