I am replacing the dash pieces on my '95, going back to stock grey (for now, anyway.) At the parts yard the other day, I noticed the dash cover for the passenger airbag looks like it is riveted to the bag module itself. Anyway to just get the cover without using the (questionable) bag from a junked car? I have considered drilling out the rivets, but on an airbag, that's kinda scary.

Also, I grabbed a dash bezel from an Vulcan car, only to get it home and realize that the Vulcan has the three-button trip computer, while the SHO has just the two-button clock. Harness is probably the same, just wanted to check before I start yanking **** out. Also noticed there is no section for the foglight button or alarm LED, but those will get modified to fit in to the SLO bezel.

I would not just go drilling into the airbag. The rivits are specific so they don't cut the bag if it goes off and they hold the flaps properly while deploying. The bezel you got must have come from a '92. Those are the only ones I have seen that has the 3 button LCD clock. AFAIK the wiring is different for the 3 button clock.

:/

Yeah, it was a '92. I was kinda hoping they ran the same wiring harness.

So far as the bag cover goes, yeah, I don't really want to do any drilling. Unfortunetly, my overzealous buddy went apeshat removing paint from the vinyl on the cover and removed some vinyl. So that cover is shot.

Just pick up an air bag off of ebay, I see them cheap all the time. Do the non-air bag 2nd gens have a big trim panel there like the little trim panels on either side of the air bag or is it just apart of the dash? If it's a seperate piece you could get one of those for the time being. I have a spare 2nd gen SHO dash bezel if you need one, it mocha though.

Part of the dash. Looks waaaay cleaner. I found a passenger side airbag in grey at the yard, I'm just iffy about buying a bag out of a car that I have no idea what the history of it is. Call me paranoid...

Yeah, I need it (dash bezel) in grey. Thanx though.
