Ok, so the parking brake on my car does absolutely nothing when applied...not even the slightest bit to slow the rear wheels. I adjusted it by turning the nut under the drivers side of the car, but it had no effect whatsoever on the brake strength. all it did was make it harder to press the parking brake pedal. anyone know what may be up with it? its connected to both rear calipers. i'd like to have it working for when i bring my car to the body shop come monday. thanks in advance

Rusty cables. Be careful, if you push the pedal hard enough to finally engage the parking brake, the springs won't be strong enough to pull the cable back and release the calipers. Your parking brakes will then be stuck on,,,not a good situation.

It doesnt seem like the cables are moving the levers. they themselves do seem to move when the pedal is applied and released...its weird. i suppose i just may need new cables then

if neither wheel is locking i think its safe to say its the cables and not the calipers. common mode failure of both calipers at once is a little unusual. good luck and let us know how it goes.
