Was working on another car and looked over and noticed something kinda hanging down but taught under my sho.

I take a closer look, and it is what I assume to be the parking brake cable. Is it supposed to be that loose and exposed?

I looked at another 99 and it seemed to be the same thing. I can't remember any other of the cars I had look like that.

Just wondering if someone would snap a pic of their undercarriage.

Thanks

Most Tauri have sagging parking brake cables; I suspect from lack of use. However, even when used frequently and properly taut, they still are visible without crawling under the car.

edit....
i should have mentioned if you just epoxy the square brackey to the frame, the parking brake will work, but it will pull the epoxy off (and you'll be back at square 1)...anyway what you need to do is fab a small slider plate, with 2 plates and a small bolt throught it so it can slide when you pull the parking brake....(epoxy part to the frame and part to the square cable bracket)
or grind out a grove the length of the square bracket and put a screw in the side of your frame so it can slide back and forth when you pull the cable....at least this way it will hold the cable up above eye level..

not a huge deal if it hangs, that's why i wanted something to hold it up is it's ugly as shit....now i don't half to look at the ugly cable hanging from underneath the car..
it's definately worth it to make the car look nicer...as the cable and bracket are an eyesore..

If your parking brake lines are hanging down, you need to asjust them. IIRC, there are small adjustment nuts on that bracket for just that purpose.
