Didn't know where exactly to post this, but this should be a good start. Anyway, I plan on painting (not powdercoating) my intake. How should I do this? I figured, since it's off the car and in pieces anyway, now'sa good time for it. Is there any prepping that I'd have to do for this? It is an enamel paint that is gas/oil safe and good up to 1200 degrees (probably a little overkill, but for 50 cents more, why not?). I want to paint the entire intake and then the valve covers as well (those will be coming out as well so I can replace the plug well seals). Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Here's what I did. Tape off all the opening and contact points, anything surface that isn't painted now. Media (not sand) blast the castings. Then paint them with a high temp engine paint. I used Dupli-Color brand, lots of colors to choose from. You can find it at most autoparts stores.

i took everything and soaked it in engine degreaser then took a scotch brite fine stripping/sanding pad(plastic brillo thing) and gave it all a fast rub down to get anything left off and to scuff the surface a little. i did not paint the cross over tubes because there is too much to worry about and too many angles etc. i just did the runners, vavle covers and timing covers. just make sure ot follow the directions, i was 10 minutes beyond the time limit in putting on another coat and its bubbled and peeled off and i had to start again. i also baked it on at 200degrees for 6 hours at the end of the day when i was done to make sure it was set.
