Ok, I have priced out power coating the slicers off the 93 atx and the price I am getting is close to the price of replacing the wheels with something else.

I know they will not look as good painted as they would power coated, but I really dont want to spend the money on new wheels at this time.

My question is,

What is the best way to paint the slicers black or is it not worth the effort ?

I did a search but didnt really find an answer, can anyone tell me if its possible and what is the best procedure. Any pictures of painted slicers would be appreciated as well.

thanks,

Pete

Strip them and use real automotive paint. A paint shop could do it for you if you don't have the equipment or you could get one of those $25 Home Depot touchup guns (if you have an air compresser) a do it your self. The paint should not cost much more than $50 or so.

I'd assume, it'd be like painting the intake, or anything else like that. You'd need to rough up the finish to give the rim some "tooth" for the paint to cling to. Do a couple coats, clear coat it, and viola... Black slicers!
