As of late, I have been getting this error code: P1260 - Theft Detected - Engine Disabled.

Obviously, my engine has not been disabled, so I don't know exactly what this is trying to tell me.

Anyone know the parameters of how this gets set?

It can also be generated by extended battery disconnects. It takes a number of starts to clear itself. I don't know the number.

Sure you didn't put Area91's SHOsource mufflers on there?

I have to ask. You don't have another PATS key on your keyring to another vehilce with PATS on there do you?

If you do remove your key to your car and try starting the car.

It's not a problem with PATS, but I wonder if it has something to do with the Viper Car alarm I got installed late last year.

The code is not on all the time, but does anyone who has a Viper (or any other brand made by that company, they are all the same module) know if by getting the alarm to sound, it will activate this code?

Yep. The aftermarket alarm will cause a multitude of problems
if installed incorrectly.

Remove the alarm and see if the code returns.

Ford has SSM (special service message) about aftermarket alarms installed
causing starting issues.

Good Luck!

lol.. remove the alarm. Riiiight. Easier said than done. Viper Alarms are a whole mess of wires.

It's not a big deal or anything, the code just comes on every once in a while, and I think it might be because the actual alarm was activated in some way. Never tested it to see though. Just wanted to know if anything else ran into this problem.
