Hi, my SHO is running great for the past few months after I finally got the speedo/abs/transmission issue fixed (it was a CV axle that fixed it because 1/2 a tooth was missing).

Now I'm getting a p0172 running rich in bank 1 code. I had both bank 1 and bank 2 running rich for a month or so, but I switched from shell v-power 93 to 87. I'm not sure if that would make a difference or if its just a coincidence. I installed a K&N cone filter about 2 months ago, not sure if it being oiled has something to do with it, I have cleaned the MAF a few times but it doesn't change anything. Other than that, I'm stumped.

Second is the p1413, which on my non-sarc 99 seems to only control the VAPS, which seems to work only after 3-4 ignition cycles, or when the car has first started. I'm clueless on both of these issues, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

The P1413 code is related to the secondary air pump which will push air in the exhaust for around 30 sec. after starting the car. I had this code too. The pump is on the subframe (driver side) and deal with water, dirt, salt, etc. The tubing can blocked or electrical connections can be completely destroyed (my case). You have a big relay on that pump miscalled by Ford "ABS relay". This relay most of the time failed and it is hard to find at a fair price (around 100$ new on e-bay). But if you don't have emmissions tests in your state, it's just an antipollution system... This relay is difficult to reach, here is a photo with the battery retreived. Some have lowered the subframe to do this job.

Air pump 4

I cannot help you with the other code, I have never had it. The only thing I can suggest to you is to switch back the 2 things you did (return to 93 and put back the normal air filter) one at the time and watch. But someone here may have the knowledge for that one.

Good luck.
