So the girlfriend is driving the SHO daily now and calls me freaking out. The check engine light came on, what do I do? I ask if it's acting up or running bad, she says no. I tell her drive it home, but don't get on it lol. I pull the codes and it's P0151 (oxygen sensor). So the question is do I just change out the bad one or do them all? Is there anything else I should be looking for or at while I'm under it?

It's dark and cold here now so I'm gonna get under it tomorrow morning so if you guys have any tips before I start it's much appreciated.

Picked up both sensors today. Ford is really proud of them lol. 100.00 bucks each, even with my discount.

Anyone got pics of locations and or diagrams and tips for removal and install?

So a successful change of sensors. Bloody and bruised lol. Here's the proof lol.

Now how do I get the code deleted? My scanner says it's a permanent code. Ee16ae42bf65e38dafd6df5f2a2ec23a0ee7e243ffcc110c29227a9114264075

I don't have an SCT device, just a scanner and Torque App. I'm LMS tuned and don't think their device is capable of that. I'll have to check. Mine cleared the check engine light but the code reader said it's a permanent.

On the TQ app you have the ability to clear codes.

Permanent codes cannot be cleared with a scan tool.

You'll have to drive it to run the O2, catalyst monitors.

So John, you mean I drive it and the ECU will see it's been replaced and make the proper changes? And the code will be removed? Or a trip to the dealer is in my future? Thanks.

On my TQ app I can clear CEL's.

So there are different types of codes. There are historical, on demand, continuous memory, and permanent.

Permanent dtcs are only cleared once the car has done its internal testing and sees the system pass. For the O.P. you will have to drive the car to clear the D.T.C., but you should not have a CEL on at all.

Dealerships cannot clear permanent DTCs either.

Ok, thanks for the info. I thought that's what you meant. She'll be back to daily driver status tomorrow and I'll check it again.

You have all been very helpful and I appreciate it. Thanks.

Yes MyCal can clear codes. But Torque should work just as well for that.
