"inner belt is a gates k040490 (4 rib serpentine, 49" long)
outer belt is a gates k060435 (6 rib serpentine, 43.5" long)"
this is for the Auto Specialties UDPs. apparently the last 3 numbers indicates the length, and the p/s belt is narrower than the alternator belt, so it would be the 4-rib one. so are some people's 51" while others' are 49"? guess I'll have to just try to pull it out and measure it eh :shakehead

oh, and another problem...the battery decided to try and blow up while i was driving around. i kept smelling rotten eggs, and when i popped the hood to put some oil in the engine, i noticed the battery was hissing and bubbling. it's an optima red top sealed battery :? is the alternator overcharging the battery? the only thing i've done to the car since i've had it was replace the starter, could I have messed something up replacing that? I had noticed that the ground cable that goes the the stud/nut on the starter was not tight at all, but this was after I had the clutch replaced so I'm guessing the clutch shop guys decided to halfass it and not tighten that nut down. or is that not supposed to be bolted there??

oh, AND there seems to be another missing bolt, on the bottom of the alternator. or does a bolt screw in from the passenger side of the engine? I haven't had a chance to really look down there, cuz the battery was hissing and hissing things on an engine near my face is not a good thing (last time I stuck my face near a hissing thing on an engine the upper radiator hose on my mustang blew off the t-stat housing with my face right above it :( )

Just replaced mine. My underdrive pulleys are from Joe Scott (Scott Perforamnce, or SP motorsports - he's changed the names over the years - used to be a big SHO supplier). The belts I used were 060455 (6-rib AC/alt) and 040510 (4-rib PS). That was what I took off, and what I put on new.

Battery could be bad. Can always check the alternator voltage with the engine running to see if it is overcharging (IIRC anything over about 14.5-15v is too high). Please be careful around exploding batteries - the acid bath you will get will cause serious injuries and especially blindness if it hits your eyes. Too many people have been injured this way. Long sleeves, safety goggles, hat, etc to cover as much skin as possible.
