Oxygen Sensors

Alright, Im at 84,000 and the CE light is on. I know the ox sensors are bad, but where are they?...there's 2 right? any info will help. thanx

Without going into how you know the O2 sensors are bad, or if you've run the engine codes to verify the CEL fault...

The O2 sensors are located on the downpipes of the front Y-Pipe under the engine. One per bank of cylinders.

There are over 150 possible error codes represented by the simple flash of the CHECK ENGINE light on your 1993 SHO. To assume that the source is a malfunctioning oxygen sensor is quite a stretch.

For the record, the rear sensor on the ATX requires a dedicated O2 sensor socket, a universal joint and about 9" of extensions. The access to the sensor is from below. Access to the electrical connector is from above, laying on the intake manifold with an arm stuck down behind the center of the manifold. The front sensor is a little easier to get to. You can get the Bosch 13223 or 15716 sensors from AutoZone for $40.99 + tax.

Don't assume, read the codes.

Skippie- didn't you just post about oil in the sparkplug wells? I think you should address this before you buy a bunch of sensors you may not need. wink

yeah, I know....I just got the car. I just have so many questions about things on it. I wanted to get some info, before I started replacing\fixing things. hehe
