Reading current threads allude to adding a pint of oil to the transmission if experiencing shift issues . Is this something that should be done regardless in order to avoid future issues?

I've embraced the overfill philosophy for years now, and it has worked well for me.

Nothing detrimental to report to date, and still rocking the original trans in my 2010.

Just about to put the pint in and was wondering if this is still advisable for a 2018 iteration . Can overfilling harm a transmission ? A superficial search appears to indicate it can damage it

I've overfilled mine and added some noshudder due to the fact that my motor was surging at low RPM's. Tranny shop said TC was probably the culprit. But I've had no problem since and she gets up and goes like a scolded cat. In fact, yesterday I had to really get on her coming out a access ramp because some people don't know how to enter or exit properly, Xmas shoppers everywhere lol. Me, my girlfriend and daughter loaded in her and we all were thrown back and she was gone lol.

No problems here either, and I've been overfilling mine for years now.

Still holding up quite well, despite all the abuse I've put it through, to date (& at the power levels I'm running).

So I would gather you'd be perfectly fine.

I checked my fluid level on LMS recommendation. It was exactly at the 'min' mark. I bought a quart and added half (16oz.) Then it checked exactly to the 'full' mark. I then added the other half a quart to overfill, and so far, no issues.
