Reading current threads allude to adding a pint of oil to the transmission if experiencing shift issues . Is this something that should be done regardless in order to avoid future issues?

I've embraced the overfill philosophy for years now, and it has worked well for me.
Nothing detrimental to report to date, and still rocking the original trans in my 2010.

That is the consciences.Should it be exactly a pint?
I checked my fluid level on LMS recommendation. It was exactly at the 'min' mark. I bought a quart and added half (16oz.) Then it checked exactly to the 'full' mark. I then added the other half a quart to overfill, and so far, no issues.Just about to put the pint in and was wondering if this is still advisable for a 2018 iteration . Can overfilling harm a transmission ? A superficial search appears to indicate it can damage it
I did it to mine. Makes perfect sense. NO issues since adding.Reading current threads allude to adding a pint of oil to the transmission if experiencing shift issues . Is this something that should be done regardless in order to avoid future issues?
