Has anyone removed the chrome outer belt mouldings and the door frame chrome mouldings. If so are there any clips/self sticking that I need to be aware of. I am going to have the chrome around the doors, grill and trunk wrapped in black and want it to be properly wrapped wround the pieces. Thanks for all your help everyone.

I work in a body shop so I should know this, but sadly I don't....the only gen 4 Taurus' we've had come through were for clear bra applications, and one paintless dent repair. But I'm curious about the answer to your question, I've been toying with the idea of blacking out the chrome too, though I'll probably just order a second set of the chrome trim so I can go back to chrome if I ever decide to do so.

I am with you on this FoCoSHO. I work in a shop and lets just say I know Fords really well and have access to all the information needed to fix one. And I can find nothing that tells you how to remove them. I am afraid from looking at the car that the upper door moulding has a screw on each end. But I am afraid that Ford used tape to hold down the rest of the moulding. Which means it will more than likely be ruined when removing. the belt mouldings seem to have clips on the end. And the likely of it being ruined when removing is the same. I priced out the mouldings and they are not cheap even at cost in my eye. I think I am just going to take the mirrors off and have them wrapped. On the upper they can pull the rubber back and wrap around the upper part and there is a screw that holds in the upper window run in that can be removed and pull the run down to wrap the lower part of the upper moulding. The lower molding is what it is. I will be removing the grill and trunk chrome and have them wrapped off the car. Hope this helps.
