I've been pretty quiet on here the past few months and I did that by choice. As most of you know, my 2010 had some serious issues right from the start. By Sept 1, 2010 I had owned the car a year and driven it roughly 23,000 miles. The car had been in the shop for multiple problems totalling almost 9 weeks. It was at that time that the folks at Ford decided it was best to get me out of that car and into a new one. Although the decision was a quick one, the whole process took a few months. In that few months, I continued to have problems (some very serious) with the 2010. I will not go into the problems publicly on a forum, but I will chime in from time to time if I see someone is have something similar happening. As far as I am concerned, those problems are behind me, Ford Motor Company stepped up, in a way I never would have imagined and now I am in a brand new 2011 SHO.

The 2011 I ordered to replace the 2010 has all the exact same options, basically everything you can get minus the sport package. I have no use for Summer tires and lower gearing. I did add the factory remote start this time around.

I am starting to notice some very minor differences between the two model years. The 11 only has 120 miles on it as of today, so I haven't been in it much yet. First thing different I did notice was the small panel to the left of the shifter that has the P N D M letters in it. The 2010 had a clear acrylic type plastic that scratched VERY easily. The '11 has it done in flat black. Also they changed the way the floor mats secure on the drivers side. Now using a type of circular snap instead of the hooks.

Let me know if you have any questions. So far this car drives 100 times better than the last one, but I also got out of the last when with it still having problems. I can say with absolute certainty that I am very pleased with the customer service I have recieved during this car whole change out. Like I said, Ford stepped up, and I am once again a very happy customer.

Glad to hear that you're happy once again, LotusDriver. Nice to know that Ford will step up should the need arise.
I'm waiting on mine to arrive in another 4 to 6 weeks.

Enjoy your new '11. The pics are great.

Way to stick with it. I'm sure you could have thrown in the blanket and been rid of it a long time ago. Glad you're happy with your 11' SHO.

I'm not surprised at all to see Ford put you in an '11. I've been saying it would be good business sense since the 3rd time you brought it in...

How do you like the remote start? Is it a separate fob than the regular one, or is it integrated?

The remote start is okay at best. In my Expedition, I have an aftermarket unit that works up to 2 miles from the vehicle. This one is no where near that. It barely reaches 100 feet away, but again I have only used it once since the car is still brand new. It is a seperate fob, which kinda sucks. Also when you open the drivers door, the car shuts off. Thats a pain. It is still better than no remote start at all. I think for the money, I would opt out and go with a good aftermarket starter for less money. It was factory, I wanted to tr it, so I did.

Lov the color. Glad you got a new 1. There are always issues to deal with when you get the 1st year of a new car, but nothing is perfect. I enjoy my 2011 SHO more than anything.

SWEET SHO! I love that blue, my wife's Milan is the same color. When it's clean, the metallic really pops! Good luck with the 2011, hope the problems are behind you. :salute:

Great to hear the situation turned out so well. I do have a curious question though, whem this type of transaction goes down how's it go with the financing? I mean did they charge you for a new car all over again, did you just pick up where you left off on the 2010 or how does that work?

Great news! Glad to hear Ford stepped up for you. It seems Ford really has stepped their PR and CS games up several notches. I hear stories about FMC going above and beyond on a regular basis nowadays - not only with SHOs, but on the Mustang forums I hang out as well.

In fact, in response to the constant complaints about the six-speed manual on that car, Ford assigned a senior CS rep to do nothing but cruise the forums and collect information and problem descriptions on all the forums. They haven't quite nailed the source of the problem yet (several theories abound most of them centering around it having been made in China... sound familiar?), but they have tried several repairs and are communicating with everybody on a real-time basis about what's going on. They've guaranteed that recalls and TSBs are coming, just as soon as they can figure out how to fix it. I call that top-notch cotomersevis.

Also, that Kona Blue looks really good. In fact, I can only think of one car it looks better on...

Thanks all for kind notes. What happens with financing is you do what is called an "exchange of collateral". The remainder of the loan stays the same and all of its details, but the collateral (the car behind the loan) gets exchanged.

When I was given the green light, I had the ability to order any new Ford product I wanted. I had to use the original sticker price on the 2010 as my means to order a new one. If I went over, then I would have to pay the difference, plus the sales tax on that out of pocket. I did go over a bit, as this car is newer and equipped with a remote start. All the other options were the same. They also have to do a mileage calculation. Those funds can either be paid out of pocket or added to the balance of the loan.
