I've got a 92 MTX with a bad p/s leak. Fluid is leaking on the pass side of the vehicle and on to the cat. I can't see where it is coming from so I just got finnished cleaning it off and waiting for it to dry. First question: how may p/s lines attach to the rack (2 or 3)? Second question: since it seems to be an unpreasurized leak I'm leaning toward the return line, which line is the return line? Third question: what is the easiest way to get to these lines (ie. drop sub frame)? Any help and/or diagrams will be greatly appriciated! Thanks, Kevin.

Well, I found the leak. The line is the one that I believe where the VAPS sensor screws into on the drivers' side of the vehicle. Does anyone know which line this is and where I can find it? It goes from the drivers' side of the vehicle, across the rack to the pass side, up to the pump and then screws into the lower side of the pump just behind the pully. Thanks, Kevin.

That is your pressure line.

Your auto parts store can get you a replacement. Among other manufacturers, Gates makes a replacement line.

Have fun replacing it....

OK, now how do I loosen the nut on the hose where it attaches to the back of the pump? Do I need to remove the motor mount and/or the p/s pump itself? Also, how important was that power steering fluid soaked heat shield that was attached to one of the hoses? It fell apart in my hands when I was cleaning the underside. Thanks, Kevin.
