What are my other options besides Flowmasters? Anybody know what else sounds good?

The Flows sound nice, but are a little too loud for me. I already have my Mustang that has an o/r x-pipe, and Flows -- one loud car is enough. I guess I am looking for something that gives it a nice powerful sound, but maybe half way in between stock, and the Flowmaster 40's as far as volume goes.

Ive heard Borlas are not as loud as flowmasters.

I put flowmaste original 40s on my car and it was the best mod I have ever done to any car i have owned. I have a kid so i didnt want anything over the top, and I think the 40s are just perfect. I kept the resonator and third cat though. . Its not loud at all cruising at highway speeds, if you dont listen for it you cant tell any difference between stock. Its nice to have the windows down and open it up though.

When I first got mine installed I drove for like two weeks with the radio off.

Just my thoughts.

what about some dynomax super turbos??? or another dynomax muffler... i mean, they give the V6 sho a deeper-than idle rumble... maybe the same can be said for the V8???

We've got Magnaflow mufflers in stock. They are a little more expensive, but give you long life and a great V-8 sound.

My Flo-Pro mufflers are somewhat of a generic FlowMaster. Cost about $140 installed, all stainless steel construction. Sound awesome, especially when they're warmed up!

The SHOwagon has Magnaflows. They sound very similar to the Flowmaster 40's on my '96. However, the Magnaflows do look a lot better from behind because they are polished - not painted black like the Flowmasters. Here are the photos: http://www.v8showagon.com/photos.htm

Borla Turbos and no 3rd cat or res on mine. Nice mellow tone throughout the RPM band. At idle you barely notice any difference from stock.
