I was just wondering if anyone knows if my wires are the original. They have "SIPCON" printed on them. Ive had my SHO for about a year and was just curious. My car is a 94 ATX, has about 125k and still runs pretty good except the hard 1-2 shift, but Im pretty sure thats a broken accumulator spring. Any response would be appreciated.....

I am almost positive the originals say "motorcraft" on them. However the ones on my atx didn't say that, but I doubt they are original.

The ones on all my mtx cars were "motorcraft".

:D

Yeah sounds like the original to me too....I was hoping somebody changed them so I wouldnt have to.....Well I guess Ill be changing them this weekend. If they hav'nt been changed, would that be the reason for the bad gas milage? I also have oil in the plug wells. Will that also cause bad gas milage?

Oil in the plug wells causes lots of issues. You don't wanna put new wires in there until that problem is solved. Try a search on oil in the plug wells its talked about at least 3 times a week.

If the car is kept in a benign environment, the plug wires can last a very long time. My garage kept '92 at 185K still has original plug wires and I've seen no indication of problems.

Wow thats pretty awsome.....What could be contributing to my gas milage problem.....The car runs like a champ but Im only gettin 12mi to the gal. I might just try to change the plugs and see what happens.....
