Orifice Tube Location

I'm in the process of changing all of the o-rings in my air-conditioning system and im I'm also in search of the orifice tube.

Does any one know where the oriface tube is located?

The line that is bolted to the passenger side frame rail (below the power steering reservoir) was made in two pieces. In theory you coudl remove that line and separate the two and replace the orifice.

Personally I would not try splitting those lines unless:
1) You are certain the orifice has obstructions.
2) You are eliminating the source of said obstructions so you don't have to redo this again.

AND IF you are going to touch that line:

Price and be prepared to buy those two lines if indeed it won't come apart, or if it will do like mine did on my 96, put a wrench on the coupler and watch the tubing crumble.

The line was pretty rusty but I managed to open it up and get to the oriface tube.

I was getting to the point of disbelief that it even had one.

I was getting to the point of disbelief that it even had one.

Removing that line is a real joy. The firewall disconnect suck pretty badly too. I remember having to cut down my nylon disconnect tool to get it in there as the release is too close to the firewall.
