Hey, I was just wondering if it is possible to make the sunroof open with just pressing the button and letting go, as opposed to holding it. I did a search, and the link that someone provided was for the entire sunroof, which I don't need, since I already have a sunroof. I was wondering if the auto-open on all the sunroof's that have them are in the switch or the motor. I would assume the switch, but what do I know? Anyway, just wondering how to do it. The thread that I read said that it had been done, it was just a pain. I guess you gotta do some re-wiring or something?

BTW, I have a contour window button for my sunroof if that matters at all.

Thanks

I believe to do the 1 touch open, you need another module like the one in the drivers side door where with one touch it goes all the way down.

I believe a few members have tried this and one I think has one touch open and one touch close. For this, you will need 2 of these modules...as well as being able to wire them in with the switch.

So, basically too much of a PITA to be worth it?

you can use an aftermarket one-touch module like those made by autoloc. all you do is splice it into the wires from your switch. they are also small enough to fit inside the sunroof console. you should only need one module as autoloc's controls both open and close by sensing load on the circuit. the module also has built in acc expansions that allow it to work with a key-fob remote that you can get seperately. the only problem you may run into is between the slide and tilt functions since ford uses the same switch for both operations. you would need to adjust the sensor to tell it to stop once the sunroof is closed or else it might keep going and tilt it to the vent position or like when it comes down from the vent it might keep going and open the sunroof all the way. it should work with any 2-way switch including windows.

Actually its really easy - Use the auto down modules in the door - sor far i have 2 in the pass side door for up and down and 2 in the drivers door for up and down. all you need for open and close is 2 modules. it has 5 wires to hook up -

Pin 1 = to the motor(positive side when going the direction you want)
Pin 2 = to the switch positive side

You cut the wire to the motor and pin 1 goes on the motor side and pin 2 goes on the switch side.

Pin3 = constant power(you can find this in there somewhere.)

Pin4 = goes to opposite side of motor - just splice it in - no need to cut

Pin5 = goes to positive when opening side of switch.

I can help with colors as I get more modules - I cleaned out all the local JYs and waiting for new stock to crash in.

Thanks for all the help, guys. Maybe I'll try the windows, not sure about the sunroof anymore though.

Thanks.

my sunroof is one touch in both directions, slide and tilt. required two modules, fit them in above th driver's side visor, and actually used a switch on the master switch instead of the moonroof button itself.
