So check this out, I finally got my car back from the tranny shop.:omgsho: Here is the kicker, when I dropped it off I had my SES light on with 3 codes. Cylinder 3 Misfire, Front bank too lean, and rear bank too lean. I get my car back yesterday, No SES light, ran my codes only one showed up P0171 Rear bank too lean. No misfire, nothing. Nothing else was done to the car except for a starter change(and tranny fixed). I tried and tried to get that light back on, because it seems too good to be true. what would cause this? anyone have any ideas?

also when im at a light the idle surges or jumps( bounces and the car shakes when it drops to low), and when i am doing like 20-30 mph and between 2,000-3,000 rpms and feather the gas it has hesitation, what would cause this? would that be because of the o2 sensor?

as you can see i am really confused here, any help would be greatly appreciated :thankyou:

When they replaced your starter they disconnected the battery and by doing that reset your computer. Give it time and your codes will come back.

I understand all of that. I ran the car for hours yesterday and today, still nothing. I would have thought the light would have came on by now. I have reset it before with the code reader and by disconnecting the battery and it always came back on within 10 mins. The rear coils are brand new, changed fuel injectors too, the only thing i havent changed were the spark plugs i will be doing that shortly.

If you had a vac leak and they fixed it without telling you or even charging you then that sounds like a good mechanic and I would keep going there.

ok so the light finally came on ran codes still only p0171, so few questions can a dirty maf cause this, i was under the impression if there was a dirty maf both banks would equally read incorrect, two, can a intake air leak cause this code to get thrown, and cause a slight rough idle, and some hesitation? thanks

Make sure none of the rubbers have been cut by clamping too tight. Sounds like the missing clamp is the problem.

I wish it was that easy, unfortunatly it was doing this way before i broke the clamp(btw the clamp actually broke while taking it off, not from overtighten)
