Oil pump oops

First, should I worry?
Doing a 3.0 to 3.2 convert, and i used the 3.2 oil pump instead of the 3.0, now I have a big ol gap in the belt covers
I'm guessing its fine, but would like a second opinion

I really hope i don't have to tear it all apart and put the 3.0 oil pump on

Either oil pump will function fine, but most folks swap the 3.0L oil pump because of the timing cover differences. That said, you should be just fine with it like that. It's very unlikely that anything will get in there and cause any trouble.

I made a small plate out of sheet metal to cover the gap.

Yeah, I considered suggesting that, but wasn't sure what (good) options there were for securing such a plate. How did you attach it @AREA 91? Thanks.

I drilled 2 small holes into the timing cover and used smallbolts and nuts with Loctite.
