Whatsup guys,
It turns out mine is leaking and I need to replace it. Is it pretty difficult to get to? I do see where its at(in the back of the engine). Would I need to access it through the master cyclinder side of the engine bay, and use an open end wrench? What will I need to remove to get to it?
Any suggestions.

SHODAZZL, (I like that),

There is a special socket for oil sending units, but if you have the right size open end wrench, or box wrench, it can be done with either one of them.

I find it easiest to access the unit from under the car, but that may depend on what model year you have and what transmission you have.

I like to put teflon tape around the threads of the new sending unit. It helps to seal the threads and makes it easier to remove the unit if you have to replace it again. rangerj

Well its replaced. I actually accessed it through the near left side back of the manifold. I used a socket and although there was little space, I reached over to where its located. You can replace it easily.

I find it much easier to get to it from under the car as well. I have never bothered with a sending unit tool, an adjustable wrench works fine.

We have a '95 ATX engine and the oil sending unit is really hard to get to from top or bottom. It is leaking like a sieve and so is the heater hose next to it. Does anyone know of a replacement part for both the sender unit and the hose? It is the hose that is a solid pipe that is attached to a rubber hose that goes into the engine.

PS103 at AutoZone for the sender. As for the hose, I usually just remove it, bring it an autoparts store, and match it up for a new one.
