Ah, I never knew, so 7lbs sets the switch? If that’s the case and a normal full temp idle is 11-12’ish I guess it’s plausible beat down oil could be the culprit.
I can't be certain 7lbs is the threshold but others on here have said that's the case. When I bought the car it had a chronic light, put fresh 5w30 in it and it went away, being concerned I added lucas to it and have ever since even though it probably doesn't need it. I then did a series of tests with a pressure gauge threaded in place of the sensor with the car on a lift and did: old oil cold, old oil hot, fresh oil cold, fresh oil hot. There is a thread on here with the numbers I was getting but this gauge I have now is reflecting similar numbers so I'm confident in its accuracy.

I wish they just made cars with real gauges instead of just dummy lights for everything. I’ll still never understand why we didn’t get a boost gauge. Do better Ford!
Same here, the 3 I added I figure are critical to monitoring systems to catch issues. I couldn't deal with a cockpit with 27 gauges but boost will tell you a lot about turbo and intake system health, volts because these cars have so much going on electronically, down voltage will cause problems, and oil pressure for general health of the engine. Trans and oil temp would be nice too but I think the ECM can actually read those so at least you could watch it from a scanner if there was a need.
