oil pressure gauge.

I just bought a cheap set of gauges to hook up they all read ok execpt for the oil pressure gauge, at hot idle it reads 0 psi at say 3,000 rpm it reads like 35-40 psi. Its an electric gauge would a mechanical one be more accurate?

Good quality electric oil pressure gauges are just as accurate.
I know some require a ground wire for the sending unit.
What brand gauges did you go with?

i got it from harbor freight i can turn on the headlights and the pressure will drop like 3-5 psi.im gonna get a set of autometers though and see what happens.

I would think they would. I have the Auto Meter carbon Fiber series in my car.

I'm particular to VDO. Hot idle indicates about 10 or so PSI on my gauge.
