You can loosen a few of the bolts that hold the tanny on the engine then pry them apart a little then slide it in there. But normally it has no issues sliding in there with out doing that.

Mine was kind of a pain to get in.. just clean it up real good, and be patient with it as not to bend it up, but it should wiggle up into place.

Mine's in a box in the garage...where it's been for over a year. I have had no problems with debris getting in there.

I have never had a issue getting it back in there after the pan was installed, you just need to leave out the 2 bolts from the oil pan to tranny.

well, yeah, those bolts are out, it's just too tight of a squeeze in there. the side opposite the starter goes in with a litle tapping, but I can hardly get it started there behinde the starter. I have tried oiling it up, uusing a pry bar and jacking the trasmission up, but to no avail, I may end up cutting the part that goes over the starter off and just using it. I don't know, it seems I always run into a problem like this.

Maybe loosen your front and rear motor mount, and jack up on the passenger side of the motor near the crank. (use a peice of wood.. lol :) )

MTX or ATX.
MTX = starter must be removed, then the dust shield installed.
