Anyone had this problem?? A few days ago, I started my SHO on the way home from work and noticed it still had the fast idle sound it gets when cranking, and did not kick to the lower idle speed - from sound only and not wanting to risk damage, I shut it off, and restarted it where it seemed to start/sound normal. I started to drive off and noticed the "check oil" light was on - not something to mess with so I shut her off again and popped the hood. She had an oil change about 1000 miles ago and dipstick showed full, oil looked clean, and car was on flat ground. Started her back up and no light since. Strange situation, even for a car as tempermental as a SHO. Any thoughts???

The orange CHECK OIL light gets its signal from the oil level sensor in the rear of the oil pan. It checks the level of the oil only. If the oil level was actually low or the car was parked at a steep angle to the front or either side, the oil level may not have been high enough to reach the sensor. Check the oil level with the engine cool and the car level.
