oil leak on passenger side

Hey there I recently(over past 2 months) noticed shrug small drops of oil and burning smell coming from the pass. side of vehicle. under the hood I see oil right near the cam sensor and on the top of power steering pump. The pump is kinda covered and it looks like the oil is dripping from above it but I cant quite see where from. Im in the process of aquiring all the parts for the 60k, but im not sure if this is a valve cover leak. Is any one familiar with an oil leak in this area.

Hmmm..its coming from way up there. Wjen you do the 60k id say change the valve cover gaskets and rear mail oil seal.

You mean front main? IIRC the rear main isn't usually a 60k item.

fasteddie - Sounds to me like your rear cam cover is leaking. Not an uncommon thing to have happen. Just make sure when you seal the covers back on that the gasket is in the groove of the cover. You may consider putting a little sealant on in that spot also.

The rear bank exhaust camshaft seal leaks through the CID (cam) sensor. This is best accessed during a front end 60K and really requires the removal of the CID sensor, CID mounting ring and CID sensor vane along with the upper timing belt cover, timing belt, camshaft timing belt pulleys and rear timing belt cover. It would be very prudent to replace all three cam seals with the Fel-Pro TCS45870 set from RockAuto.com for $14.63.

The valve cover seal, if it is the source, is a bit less of an effort to replace.

Thanks for the input actually I had thought maybe it was the cam seals. Im gona do some searching in the forumn and try to find the best way to do this project. I will let you guys know what I find. Hey there bizzy pm me and let me know where you are!!
