The color of the oil depends more on how much time you spend at WOT.

Why use synthetic blends? A 5% synthetic/95% dino is a blend.....

With the small difference between semi synthetic and synthetic I wouldn't both with the semi synthetic. If you are concerned about cost then the synthetic extended to the factory 5k recommended service time is nearly as cheap as dino at a 3k OCI.

6.5 quarts of good synthetic oil if you use a factory sized oil filter. You can use a larger one to get up to 7 quarts of oil. IIRC It's a Motorcraft FL401 or FL-1A?

Mobil1 factory sized oil filter is a M1-209

For the love of god do not use Pennzoil.

+1 on Motorcraft 5-30(non-synthetic) and the FL-1A filter.
You get at least another half litre in that way.
MY '99 has about 240,000km(150,000miles??)

FWIW the newer oil filters are smaller in capacity when compared to the same part numbers of old.

I always run Castrol regular oil. After 4,000 miles you can pull the stick and still see right through it. As for the filter, it's a FL-400

So.. is it bad that I change oils a lot? I used Motorcraft, then penzoil (yeah I know.. it was on sale damnit!), then I went to Mobile1, then I'm about to use Castrol GTX High Mileage Synthetic Blend...

Does it matter?
