To whom it may concern,

I am interested in purchasing an OEM clutch kit for my SHO, however, it is unclear to me what is meant by OEM. I know OEM is an acronym for “original equipment manufacturer,” but what does this actually mean? Generally speaking, are OEM clutches, superior to the Motorcraft replacement clutch?

Thank you for your time and consideration,

half-way there, I think.
If you're buying a new OEM clutch - you're getting what the factory installed. If you're getting a rebuilt clutch that meets or exceeds OEM, then it's an after market rebuilt unit.
