Long time lurker, first time posting. I've got a 2010 that makes an odd noise during casual acceleration from a dead stop. The best way I know how to describe it is comparing it to fluid sloshing backward. I can't really describe it much better than that. It seems to happen most often in 50-65 degree weather. I can't reproduce the sound on demand but it does seem to happen quite frequently.

Has anyone else heard something similar to this before?

I've heard this noise intermit. on both my SHO and my MK-S, sounds like air in the cooling system, have no idea what it is.

I'd check to make sure all drains are unclogged and water isn't collecting somewhere inside the car. We had that problem with our Sable, the water from the sunroof drain was draining into the sound deadening material, caused a lot of rust in the unibody. Hope this isn't your problem, but I would check all the drains. In my 98 F-150 the AC drain was dripping directly onto the oxygen sensor on the passenger side and caused it to short out, so this wouldn't be the first time Ford has had drain problems.

I have heard the same - I think its just in the HVAC case itself (possible heater core) that is getting fluid passed through it.

Don't know if this helps but, I have definitely heard the fuel sloshing around at all temps and all fuel levels. never had a car that I was so clearly able to hear this. let us know if you find something specific.

Same issue here! Not sure if its an issue, but it is sure annoying sometimes.

I get it when i start my AC as well. Sometimes it sounds like its bubbling!

I had a local shop blow out the drainage or overflow thingy to the AC, but no fluids came out.

I'll bet that's air in the heating/cooling system. Someone may have mentioned that already -- if so pardon my repeating it.

You guys are right, I haven't noticed the noise in the SHO but I did have it in my Lincoln Mark LT and in both our Sable and Explorer.
