So, i just don't have the time I used to have to work on my car myself. My new job is too demanding. (Moved here last summer)

Anyway, I took the SHO to my local Ford dealer here in Charlottesville. Hoping for the best, didn't think a brake job would be that difficult.

After driving around a few weeks, noticed a crazy scrubbing/squealing noise. Not sure why this didn't make noise initially, maybe just didn't hear it... This is the passenger rear wheel.

Anyway, figured you guys would get a kick out of this. WTF! How could the mechanic not see this?

Will be an entertaining visit back to them tomorrow....

I thinking I should get a new rotor as that ring will rust. And of course a new pad shim.

The "mechanic" should be drawn and quartered.

Talk to the service manager directly. If he's not around, go up the chain until you find someone. Seriously, this is horrible. If someone loses their job over this, well, so be it. Whoever did that shouldn't be touching tools.

Well I gave the service manager a piece of my mind. He got the shop manager and I told him too. They too were shocked, but didn't make excuses. Oh, forgot to mention that BOTH rear calipers were the same.
New pads and rotors on the back in the morning.... Couldn't do today because they didn't have any in stock... They said they had to go over to the Lincoln dealer and get them! Ha

The reason I only use the dealer for warranty work. Just cannot trust them.

Agreed. Even minor things like my windshield washer pump going out I don't bother going to the dealer. I'm sure some dealers are better than others and the techs are pushed harder than a typical private shop but it's my money and my car and I want it done right the first time.
