October 2nd meet!! Raceway Woods

Hey everyone!! Here is the official info on the Raceway Woods meet. This meet is going to be a really good one so BE THERE!!!

WHERE?? Meet up at Streets of Woodfield in front of Dick's at 10:00AM

Will caravan to Raceway Woods at about 10:30am. After Raceway Woods, Chris (platoribs) has been kind enough to let us caravan to his house for some beer, brats, and BSing. At Raceway Woods, Tom (SHOCH)'s dad will be present as a tour guide of sorts giving us history and other interesting info about that which used to be a racetrack there. Last time we went, it was cold as **** and snowy so we didn't get as good of a look at things as we could have. This time, weather should be more kind to us so we can see the true remains of the racetrack.

I don't want to hear any excuses on this one, this is good advance notice and this meet is going to be great so let's see a good turnout!!!

Cost at the race track? I just moved here so I have no idea where the track is but I can mapquest to Shcaumburg. I just moved to Bolingbrook and am attending UTI. Lemme know if you want my cell number I'll PM it to ya.

It's not an actual functioning racetrack, it was one back in the 50's and 60's and now its mostly forest preserve. The racetrack is still basically there, though, and we're going to have someone with us who actually raced on the track to give us some history on the track.

I went to dick's at the streets of woodfield today and to my suprise noone was there. I asked everybody around that I could ask even in the local businesses and noone's ever heard of raceway woods. I was stupid for not getting a phone number of anyone but I just thought when I seen a whole slu of shos in one place I would know where I was but that wasn't the case ofcourse.

If it was like the last two SHOCago meets I've been to, there would only be two or three SHOs for about 8 people.

From what ive heard some people showed up but at raceway woods late (11:30am-1pm) and did have the tour. I personaly was looking forward to meet with everybody. Since i was going to show up late too i remember that Chris (plateoribs) had posted his info on shocago before, so i looked it up and gave him a call. I showed up at his house around 2pm to my surprise nobody but one other member was there.

Chris even said that he was at raceway woods and nobody was there. I think last raceway woods outcome was better and it was cold! I wonder what happened?
