ok guys i drove home from london friday ...and about half way .....i turned a corner...it did the 2nd gear jolt like usual ...then weakly shifted into 3rd.....then jolted HARD!! i pulled over anc checked...i had a bit of fluid dripping but i checked and i was still on full....i drove home ...1 hour away ......i noticed i lost Overdrive......i was doing 85 kph the whole way home at 3300 RPM ......usually 85 kph would be like 1200 RPM or less
i got to windsor and lost 3rd gear.....soo i drove the 2 min home in 2nd gear .....
newayz i took it the next day and on the way to the shop..it shifted awesome...still didnt have overdrive my it shifted firm and i had 3rd gear...
the shop hooked it up to the scanner and said it showed my Overdrive sensor was bad......
what is the overdrive sensor ? and are they expensive or hard to install ??
it goes in tuesday afternoon to get the sensor chaged and see if that changes anything......
also the shop said i lost 3rd cause the car went into "limp mode" and only let it go into 2nd....anyone ever herd of limp mode ?? what the **** is it ??
what kinda situation am i looking at guys ?

and they arent cheap, somewhere around $800 from the dealer the last time i checked. As for the fliud leaking .........thats one to worry about too, if you run it low on fliud constently it will start to burn up the clutch's inside due to the heat from it slipping. I've seen alot of them leaking from the torque converter seal and that usually needs a new stator, converter, and seal to repair the leak properly. The trans would need to be removed and disassembled to change the stator(it wears out from the bushing in converter)so it basically should be overhauled completely while that far into it.
