I love being able to weld and fabricate.... $$90 in parts, a couple days of brainstorming, and a day of work...

A shot mid way though fabrication.
IMG 0063

I have sampled how Jose's Mack-Daddy SHOrt Shifter feels/works, and This feels DAMN close. Looks 100% stock, feels 200% performance!

I also re-engineered the U-Joint with bronze oilite door hinge bushings, and poly bushings and also replaced the plastic bushing at the entrance to the shift housing with a bronze oilite bushing/washer making it all slop-free.
All for $90...

Thanks Matt!!! :thumb: :woo-hoo:

However, if you'd like to fab me up a shifter boss brace, we need to talk........

Boss brace isnt high on my priority list. All my mounts are bolted solid, the engine/trans doesn't move. I also dont try to dislodge the shifter from the floor on every shift.

That makes one person in this post that doesn't......cause I know I do....as well as tim.:naughty:

but I will say that some bushings in your assembly would help you out greatly time.....dumb ford design.....

I have a shifter sitting around from another car I would like to see if I can modify it to fit a SHO.....only problem is I don't have a 5 speed SHO.

Looks good James! I wish I had some extra time and a welder, I still have tons of stuff to do to my 91!

You trying to tell me you wanna use mine as a guinea pig?

Perhaps....just matters if I can get my lazy butt up and do something at some point and tme.

maybe if you can get shifter bushings....we can replace them and I can try that using that shifter.

Would you mind elaborating on the build up? If you don't mind. I've had the itch to throw something together for the car, but just haven't had a set plan to go by per se.
I'm an excellent fabricator, so let me have it! :salute:
