Hey everyone, in looking at flowmasters website I see that there are now 3 options for the SHO's being
The orginal 40's
The Delta Flow 40's
and The "Super" 40's

Anyone have any input on how much of a sound difference there is between them? I'm having a tough time deciding which ones to go with... what I'm after is a "meaner" sound but not to the point that it becomes disturbing to the driver inside the car (read resonance) Also is there a place that has ANY sound clips of the 40's on the Gen III?

I've yet to see/hear anyone with the "Super 40's", although I've thought about giving them a try. Everyone else not looking for the head-turning attention the original 40's garner has seemed pretty happy with the Deltas; still some growl, but not as obnoxious.

Not that I'm aware of, but you could try posting a message to the V8 list, I'm sure someone, somewhere has recorded them.

deltas are nice. they sound aggressive when your on the gas, and moderate most of the time to the point where you can almost forget about hearing the exaust. which for the origional 40s is different case.

I've had the Delta 40's for a little over a year now and they have broken in quite nicely. My girlfriend borrowed my car a couple of days ago and I heard the exhaust for the first time as the car was driving away. :D :D :D Much louder on the outside than the inside.

I could be wrong...

I think that the "super 40s" is a nick name of the 40 Delta flow series. I was looking into this option a while back and that's what I came with.

Also, as to your question about the difference between the two...

The 40s are an older design and louder. The deltas deliver a more mellow tone, but are supposed to yield more horsepower because of an updated internal design. I must add that for the money I would stick with the regular 40s.
