Are you doing the paperclip method? If so is the paperclip or jumper wire you are using in the connectors well? Also are u jumping the proper wires? Are the contacts of the connector dirty at all?

Have you visited the links at the bottom of my signature? The Midwest SHO site has a good picture of the jumper installation. The Dali Design site has a good technical description of teh testing procedure and expected results.

First of all, does your CEL come on when the ignition is turned to RUN before hitting the starter?

If it doesn't and the light is burned out or the fuse supplying it is open or there is an open connection, you'll never get a code from the computer by any means, including a scanner.

If the CEL does light, then your procedure is incorrect, most likely.

Yes I'm doing it just like the site says about the paperclip method and everything else that goes with it. The fan is not coming on when doing the procedure but the fuel pump is that's it, nothing else.

Answer my first question.

If the fuel pump is coming on and staying on, you are either grounding he wrong pin or there is a wiring fault in your self test connector.

It means that either the light is burned out, there is an open fuse, or there is some other fault in the circuit.

You will have to resolve this problem before proceding.

CEL is MIA
