noise in engine

I have a noise in my engine like someone holding a playing card in the spoke ok a bike. When I start the engine it sounds like its coming from the rear valve train, you can feel the noise if you put your hand on thr valve cover???? When you start the motor it starts then goes a way then starts again. sometimes when you start the motor there is no noise and then it starts, it don't get louder when it run to operating temp.HELP

sounds like the timing chain is slapping on the valve cover. The tensioner might have gone bad allowing the chain to slap the valve cover.
