Whenever I turn my wheels, a noise comes from the left front. Sounds like a whooping noise. It only happens when the wheel is turned and is louder at slower speeds. Any ideas? Thanks

Might be a worn ball joint or wheel bearing allowing something to run against the brake dust shield or the caliper mounting bracket, etc.

Check them out. Also check for clearance problems with that shield. Sometimes they get bent and cause a contact problem only when the car is turning.

yeah, could be what he said or it could be your axle/cv. most of the time when they go bad they will make a clicking noise when you turn the wheel. check to see if your cv boot is torn. if it is there is a good chance your cv joint is bad. if it isn't it is probably not that.

Does it sound like rubber against metal? Try some silicone grease (Sil-Glyde available at most auto parts stores) between the rubber edge of the upper spring pad in the strut bushing and the outboard areas of the inside of the strut towers. If the upper alignment plates have been drilled out and located farther outboard to get the camber in spec (less negative), there can be a physical interference between the parts mentioned.

Ford made a 1/8" thick spacer plate that fits on top of the upper strut mount and below the top of the strut tower. You must remove the strut and spring from the car to install it though. This sound will be more frequently reported by many SHO owners now that the weather is getting wetter and colder. I just lubricated mine last week for those reasons.

No clicking when the wheel is turned. I checked to make sure the lugs were tight and got about 3/4 of a turn out of them. The cv boot is fine and when I tried to move the wheel side to side it was rock solid.
