Hello all,

I just recently got a 1995 ATX on the road. The car hasn't been on the raod since 2002 due to transmission failure. So I picked up a used ATX with only 32K on it and threw it in. Now the car is working great but there is this annoying clicking noise coming from behind the dash. I am guessing it has something to do with the climate control unit but I wanted to see if anyone here has had the same issue before I go in blind? Any help here would be greatly appreciated. I did some searching around but found nothing on this so I am sorry if this a repetitive post that may have been created at an earlier date. Thanks.

Most likely, you are hearing the stripped gears of the blend door actuator (BDA) trying to adjust the airflow temperature.

Turn the climate control to OFF and see if the noise stops. If so, that's your problem.

It's a PITA to replace...

Thanks guys. The weird part is though that the noise actually seems to go away when the climate control is on. I only hear this noise when it is off. But I can not imagine there is anything else with an electric motor back there. So it probably is the BDA. Thanks again.
