The car is a '99 SHO and is currently not starting. There are no codes when scanned, probably because they were cleared when i had to disconnet the battery to charge it. The car was running, but now will just turn over and not fire up. I can hear the fuel pump engage when turning the ignition and also just replaced the inline filter. I can hear the injectors clicking when trying to start also. I checked all the fuses and all are fine, but didnt test any relays. Nothings better than a sho with problems...but if anyone has any ideas, it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't checked the battery output, but it turns over strong. Ill check it although. Everything is hooked up, since the car was running fine a few days ago. I'll unplug and check them, but I dont think its the problem. A possible cam or crank senor failure?

Crank Sensor

My bet is on the crank sensor. Pull and clean the connector. When I had this problem, I plugged and unplugged the connector several time. This can help clean the connector. This is an easy task, no tools needed, just turn the wheels to the right. You will need to pull back on the plastic splash gaurd to get to the sensor. The car will not start with out a good signal from the crank sensor.

You need to get a noid light

unplug an injector and plug noid light into harness. if it flashes while you are cranking the engine then your crank sensor is working.

Also, there is a shrader valve on the fuel rail. Best thing is to hook up a fuel pressure tester to it to check you have the proper fuel pressure (40 psi with engine off or vacuum line off regulator). If you don't have a guage you can just push the shrader valve and see if fuel shots out when you turn key to on position (fuel pump only comes on for a few seconds until it sees a crank signal) but you won't know if you have proper pressure this way.:swing:
