my '91 3.0 MTX is broken
it's not starting
it cranks and cranks and cranks, but will not start
i looked at the trouble codes - nothing with the KOEO other than 11
i've replaced the following:
coil pack
crank sensor
cam sensor
DIS
PCM
CCRM
wiring harness from computer to ccrm
fuel rail wiring harness
plugs
plug wires

i've checked:
the cam sensor is OK
the battery is OK
inertia switch is not preventing the start
the fuseable links are OK
the fuses are OK
the wires from the starter are OK

as far as we know, the car should fire up and run fine, but it doesn't

if anyone has any ideas, please post - we've run out of ideas and have nothing else to try

there's no spark, i've stuck my finger into the wire and held onto the frame of the car, nothing
i've stuck an old spark plug (still good) into the wire and watched for the jump
also tried sticking a timing light onto the car and seeing if it at least lights up, nothing
no spark -_-

the wiring harnesses and the coil pack are out of a junkyard car, i'm not sure how long it sat without the hood

Well, if you can find another(running) SHO, you can swap your(possibly bad) coil pack and DIS into it and see if it still runs.

The DIS is GROUNDED, right? The bottom 2 holes on the DIS must be grounded well.

If the injectors are firing...you know the computer is working...(am I right guys?).

it's correct... an M
the injectors are firing, but that doesn't mean that a pin couldn't be broken or something on the computer

and i don't have another gen I lying around....
i do have a gen II next door, but his coil pack won't work in my car (different connectors)
and we already tried swapping the DIS, with no improvement

the intertia switch... should it be up or pushed in?

all you have to do is grind the little tab on the coil pack down.... this hurts nothing.... just incase you want to try it.

Inertia switch should be down. But that has no control over the ignition system.
(just fuel)

i didn't think there's power to the coil pack...

but... there was...
i'm going to grind the stub off and see if it works...
but the readings were low to it...
one read 10 V
another 2 V
another 3 V
and the other around 5 V

same goes for the ground on the coil pack
i've got another coil pack that is - for sure- good (it's getting pulled off a friend's car) coming tomorrow

Your readings at the coil pack are *****. Were those with the coil connected or disconnected?

Fix that first. Check to see if you have TWO orange gaskets in that connector......

BTW, does your CEL light properly when you first turn the key to RUN? This is important.....

You should have full battery voltage on the RED/LT GRN wire at the coil with the ignition switch in START or RUN. This same supply line (same color) also goes to the CPS, CID, IRCM (pin 13 - Energizes the PCM Power relay and enables all the other relays, including the fuel pump relay), DIS module, and the PCM.

If more than one of the above devices shows reduced supply voltage, disconnect each, one at a time, to see if any of them are shorted and loading the circuit. Also, disconnect the RFI capacitor at the coil, it's also on this circuit. Leave each device disconnected and proceed to the next if there was no change.

If the voltage drops with any of the devices connected, you probably have a bad ignition switch or a faulty fuse link B.
